Compassionate therapy for mental health and well-being
With over 20 years of experience, I am a highly respected Clinical Psychologist dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, teens, and adults in navigating life’s emotional and psychological challenges. My compassionate and evidence-based approach has helped countless individuals build resilience, improve mental well-being, and achieve personal growth.
I specializes in a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, behavioral disorders, academic stress, self-esteem issues, and relationship challenges. I work closely with children and adolescents facing learning difficulties, social struggles, and emotional regulation challenges. For teens and adults, I provide guidance on stress management, life transitions, workplace pressures, and personal development.
My approach is rooted in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and solution-focused counseling, ensuring personalized care tailored to each individual’s needs.
I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can express themselves freely and embark on a journey of healing and self-discovery.
Whether you’re a parent seeking support for your child, a teen navigating life’s complexities, or an adult striving for emotional well-being, I am committed to helping you lead a more balanced and fulfilling life.
In-clinic visits provide a controlled and distraction-free environment, allowing for deeper engagement between the client & myself. Face-to-face interaction helps build trust and rapport, and clients have access to in-person assessments and additional resources that may enhance their treatment.
In-school visits offer convenience for students by eliminating travel time and ensuring they receive support within their familiar educational setting. This approach allows me to observe behaviors in real-time within a natural environment, leading to more accurate assessments and interventions. It also ensures immediate assistance when emotional or behavioral challenges arise.
Online consultations provide flexibility and accessibility, allowing clients to seek help from anywhere. This is particularly beneficial for individuals with mobility limitations or time constraints. Online sessions also offer greater privacy, reducing the stigma some people may feel about seeking psychological support.
Learn how to manage stress more effectively, reduce the negative effects of stress on your health and well-being, and live a more balanced life.
Learn techniques for managing anger more effectively, improve your communication skills, and strengthen your relationships.
Reduce stress, improve focus, and increase your overall sense of well-being with evidence-based mindfulness training.
Do note please read the questions below to signify and acknowledge you're in agreement- We are here to facilitate you and help you! Please reach me at aakritimahindra@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Your first session is usually about getting to know you—your concerns, background, and goals. I may ask questions about your emotions, thoughts, relationships, and experiences to understand how best to support you.
There’s no pressure to prepare, but it can help to think about:
Yes! I follow strict confidentiality rules. However, exceptions exist if there’s a risk of harm to yourself or others. Myoffice is a judgment-free zone. You can share your thoughts, feelings, and even your most embarrassing moments—no side-eyes, promise!
It varies from person to person. The maximum time allowed is 45 minutes. Some people see progress in a few sessions, while others may need longer-term support. I will guide you based on your needs.
No! Therapy isn’t just for diagnosed conditions—it’s for anyone dealing with stress, emotions, or life challenges.
This depends on your situation. Some people benefit from weekly sessions, while others may space them out more. I will work with you to find the right schedule.
I do not prescribe medication, but if needed, I may refer you to a psychiatrist or medical professional.
Costs vary based on the conditions, therapy, location, and session length. Some insurance plans or workplace benefits may cover therapy, so it’s good to check in advance. Please check with the clinics for accurate pricing.
That’s okay! You don’t have to come with a speech prepared. I will guide the conversation, and sometimes just showing up is the first big step.
Life happens, and sometimes delays are unavoidable. If you’re running late, try to inform my team as soon as possible. Most sessions will still end at the scheduled time to respect the next client’s appointment. If you’re significantly late by15 minutes remember you're eating into your own therapy time! So please be on time!
Life can be unpredictable, and sometimes cancellations are necessary. However, frequently canceling sessions can slow down progress in therapy. If you cancel more than once, I may discuss with you the pattern for your cancellation, such as anxiety, hesitation, or scheduling issues. If the cancellation persists, then cancellation charges will apply.
Totally normal! Therapy is a safe space to express yourself. Tears, laughter, awkward silences—it’s all welcome.
Nope! Therapy isn’t a test. It’s about learning and growing at your own pace. Progress looks different for everyone.
Some signs include feeling lighter after sessions, thinking differently about problems, or noticing small positive changes in your life. Therapy isn’t magic, but it helps you build real-life tools!
As much as I may be an awesome human, therapy is a professional relationship. Boundaries help keep sessions effective and ethical.
If a patient exhibits aggressive or violent behavior, the I will do my best to remain calm, maintain a non-threatening posture, and use de-escalation techniques such as active listening and a composed tone. If the situation escalates, I may need to create physical distance or exit the room, ending the sessions safely while seeking assistance from legal authorities.
A clinical psychologist is someone who helps people work through their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors using talk therapy. They don’t prescribe medication but use different techniques to help you understand and manage emotions, stress, anxiety, or other challenges in life.
A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can prescribe medication to help with mental health conditions. They often work with psychologists to provide well-rounded care, especially if medication is needed for conditions like depression, anxiety, or other disorders.
If you're seeing a psychologist, there’s no need to worry—they are here to listen, support, and help you feel better without judgment.
